The sidewalk in winter

I wish that the municipal council would give the sidewalk the same attention they would give to the road. When it snows a storm , all the snow in the road gets shoved to the sidewalk. When it rains ice, the sidewalk becomes something you can ice skate on. Yes, it's really really important that the road stays clear but we can't actually walk on the road can we?

And the poor souls who don't have a car and have to walk 30 minutes to get to class have to either stomp through snow or slither their way through to where ever they're going. I'm just really glad I got home safe without breaking any bones.

  1. Hello, this is KIRKSVILLE! I think the Municipal council or whatever let people and businesses maintain their own sidewalks. They probably only pave the roads. I have endured the same problem during the winter. Even when someone bothers to pave someplace, it's never done right and later the leftover snow becomes ice and mud (ew).

  2. Many city residents feel the same way you do.
